MCC breaks 300, wins twice
LOCKPORT, NY - The MCC golf team broke the 300-barrier for the first time this season and won two more events this weekend to stay perfect in regional competition.
The Tribunes fired a team score of 299 on Saturday at the Western New York Athletic Conference championship, which was held at Willowbrook GC. Anthony Colosi (Rush, NY/Rush-Henrietta) earned medalist honors with a two-over-par 73.
Freshman Shane Dobesh (Webster, NY/Webster Schroeder) was right behind with a 74 for Monroe. Alex McKee (Newmarket, ON/Sir William Mulock) and Mike Catalano (Syracuse, NY/Cicero-North Syracuse) finished with 76s to round out the scoring.
Colosi, Dobesh, McKee, and Catalano were named first team All Conference. Tim McCall (Baldwinsville, NY/C.W. Baker) was named to the second team.
MCC also won at Highland Park on Friday. Dobesh and Catalano finished tied for second with rounds of 75 to pace the Tribunes. McCall fired a 77 and Colosi and Nate Barnard (Scottsville, NY/Wheatland-Chili) had 80s.
