MCC splits weekend road trip

ELYRIA, Ohio - The MCC men's soccer team salvaged a split on a weekend road trip with a 10-0 victory over Lorain County CC Sunday afternoon.

The Tribunes had fallen to Owens CC 3-2 in overtime Saturday.

Abe Barry (Henrietta, NY/Greece Olympia) had a huge game against Lorain, registering four goals and an assist.  Cody Winter (North Rose, NY/North Rose-Wolcott) added a goal and three assists.

Adriano Negri (Vancouver, BC/Templeton) and Harry Newton (Benfleet, England/Appleton) chipped in with a goal and two assists apiece. Kristian Barbato (Spencerport, NY/Spencerport), Taylor Baach (Buffalo, NY/Canisius), and Nicholas Cafarelli (Gates, NY/Gates Chili) all scored one goal.

Sam Torrelli (Akron, NY/Akron) stopped one shot for the shutout.

Owens CC came through with a goal with 3:46 left in overtime to beat Monroe on Saturday.  Seamus Sharkey (Newtown, Ireland/St. Eunans) scored both goals for the Tribunes.
