MCC women ranked No. 1 in preseason poll

ROCHESTER - The Monroe Community College women's lacrosse team is ranked first in Lacrosse Magazine's 2012 preseason junior college poll.

The Tribunes are coming off a 19-1 season in which the team won its second straight national championship.  MCC topped preseason No. 2 Anne Arundel CC 8-6 in last year's title game.

CCBC-Catonsville is third, followed by Onondaga and Harford.  Howard, Herkimer, Mohawk Valley, Nassau, and Brookdale round out the Top 10.

Monroe opens its schedule with a March 17 home game against Notre Dame College.  Notre Dame handed the Tribunes their only loss last season.
