CLEP Information

Monroe Community College accepts credits earned through The College Level Examination Program (CLEP). CLEP enables you to take exams for college credit without attending class and earn up to a total of 30 credits or more. Students must earn minimum acceptable scores to receive credit.

There are two types of examinations:

General Examinations - English, humanities, social sciences, natural sciences and mathematics, which test the general college learning often acquired by students in the first two years of formal college work.

Subject Examinations - Which measure achievement in specified undergraduate courses.

For more information on CLEP exams and local test sites contact the Office of Experiential and Adult Learning in Building 3, Room 108 at the Brighton Campus (585) 292-3219 or see the official CLEP website at www.collegeboard.com.
